Individual Counselling for Leaders and Professionals
with Dr. Steve Conway, RCC, ACS, PCC
A Career Centred on People, Leadership & Change
Looking back over my career, two themes have remained remarkably consistent: a fascination with people and an interest in leadership. Those interests have shaped much of what I have done professionally over almost 35 years.
I have worked across mental health, leadership, coaching, education, and organizational development — experiences that continue to shape how I understand people, relationships, change, and the challenges individuals face throughout their lives and careers.

Experience That Understands Your World

My Professional Path
Over the course of my career, I have served as a senior leader, counsellor, executive and leadership coach, clinical supervisor, educator, organizational consultant, and conference speaker.
I have sat with clients in counselling offices, coached executives, served in senior leadership and governance roles, facilitated leadership development programs, led teams, supervised clinicians, and taught graduate students.
Each experience has contributed to how I understand people, relationships, change, and the challenges individuals face throughout their lives and careers.
“My professional path has taken me through several different worlds, but the thread connecting them has always been people.”
Two Worlds.
One Perspective.

Mental Health
I have worked as a psychotherapist for 24 years in a variety of settings and with diverse populations. Over the years, I have supported individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, relationship difficulties, workplace challenges, major life transitions, and many of the difficulties that emerge through different stages of life.
Leadership
At the same time, I have spent much of my professional life in leadership positions — as a manager, Director, Vice President, Managing Director, and board chair. I have led teams, managed performance concerns, contributed to organizational planning, and carried responsibility for people, programs, strategic priorities, and organizational outcomes.
That combination has given me a perspective that is somewhat different from many therapists.
Where Personal & Professional Life Meet
One of the reasons I have continued working in both mental health and leadership throughout my career is that I have always been interested in the intersection between personal wellbeing and professional life.
The challenges people face at work often influence what happens at home.
The challenges they experience at home often influence how they show up at work.
After many years practising in both worlds, I have come to appreciate how closely connected those experiences can be.
Experience With People in Your World
Throughout my career, I have worked with people from many walks of life, but I have found myself particularly drawn to supporting leaders, professionals, business owners, healthcare providers, educators, and others who carry significant responsibility in their work and personal lives.
Leaders & Executives
Professionals
Business Owners
Healthcare Providers
Educators
In addition to my counselling practice, I continue to coach leaders, facilitate leadership development programs, consult with organizations, speak at conferences, and serve in governance roles. Remaining active in these areas helps me stay connected to the realities many professionals and leaders face in their daily work.
